Putting his musical talent to use, Walter Murphy's music was featured in Hollywood productions. Murphy worked on a variety of projects during his early entertainment career, including "Ice Castles" with Robby Benson (1978), "Modern Romance" with Albert Brooks (1981) and "Pulsebeat" (1984). He also contributed to "Raw Force" (1982), "Rhinestone" (1984) starring Sylvester Stallone and "Saturday Night Fever" (1977) starring John Travolta. Murphy won an Album Of The Year Grammy Award in 1978. Murphy was nominated for an Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics Primetime Emmy Award for "Family Guy" in 2007 as well as for an Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics Primetime Emmy Award for "Family Guy" in 2010. In the nineties and the early 2000s, Murphy's music continued to appear on the silver screen, including in films like the Hank Azaria action flick "Mystery Men" (1999), the Steve Martin comedy "Bowfinger" (1999) and the Mike Myers blockbuster comedy sequel "Austin Powers in Goldmember" (2002). His work was also in the James Franco biographical drama "Sonny" (2002). Murphy's music was also featured in the Ben Stiller action film "Starsky & Hutch" (2004), the Cedric The Entertainer comedy "Johnson Family Vacation" (2004) and "The Cookout" (2004) with Quran Pender. His music was also featured in the comedic sports movie "Semi-Pro" (2008) with Will Ferrell. Murphy most recently worked on the comedy sequel "Ted 2" (2015) with Mark Wahlberg.
